How to Use Frameworks with ChatGPT

Learn how to set up your RPG frameworks in ChatGPT using either Custom GPTs or ChatGPT Projects. Both methods work great—choose the one that fits your workflow.

Method 1: Create a Custom GPT

Best for dedicated, reusable framework assistants. Requires ChatGPT Plus or Team subscription.

Download Your Framework

Go to the Frameworks page and download the ZIP file for your chosen framework. Extract the JSON file.

Go to ChatGPT and Click "Explore GPTs"

In the ChatGPT sidebar, click on "Explore" or "Explore GPTs" to access the GPT builder.

Click "Create a GPT"

Select "Create" in the top right corner to start building your custom GPT.

Upload the Framework JSON File

In the "Configure" tab, scroll to the "Knowledge" section and upload your framework JSON file.

Tip: Give your GPT a clear name like "Brand 360 Audit Assistant" so you can find it easily later.

Save and Start Using

Click "Save" and choose "Only me" for privacy. Your custom GPT is now ready to run assessments!

Method 2: Use ChatGPT Projects

Best for organizing multiple frameworks in one place. Available with ChatGPT Plus or Team.

Download Your Framework

Download the framework ZIP file and extract the JSON file to your computer.

Create a New Project

In ChatGPT, click on your profile icon and select "Projects" → "New Project". Name it after your framework (e.g., "Brand 360 Audit").

Upload the Framework JSON

Inside your project, click the paperclip icon to upload files, then select your framework JSON file.

Start Your Assessment

ChatGPT will automatically reference the framework file. Begin by asking it to run the assessment or review specific areas.

Pro Tip: You can upload multiple frameworks to the same project to compare insights across different assessments.

Best Practices

  • Keep frameworks separate: Create a different Custom GPT or Project for each framework to avoid confusion.
  • Review the framework overview: Read the README file included in your download to understand the framework structure before running assessments.
  • Save your conversations: ChatGPT saves your project conversations automatically, making it easy to return to assessments later.
  • Update regularly: When we release framework updates, simply replace the old JSON file with the new one in your GPT or Project.
